The great thing about owning a condo so close to home is the availability of just "running up" for the day or weekend. Powderhorn 210 will be in the rental pool most of the year, but we wanted to experience staying up here first. Here are some of the things we have done so far:
July 30-August1: This was the annual Solitude Homeowners Weekend. We had HOA meetings and events to get to know the other owners. Being new owners, we learned a lot. Most of the owners are from out of state, not many, like us, from the Salt Lake valley. Our HOA decided to add digitial tv which will be installed during the fall months.
July 30: Met Dean Roberts, local Solitude historian, and his avalanche dog, Bear. Hiked to an old water pipe that he use to maintain. Very overgrown, so a bit of a rough hike, but excellent company. Mr. Roberts is a fascinating gentleman! He owns a home down at Silverfork.
August 1: Taste of the Nation. Solitude plays host annually to the Taste of the Nation, where many of the local chefs set up booths for food and wine tasting. The proceeds from this event benefit children who are currently going hungry. Very well attended event and a lot of fun! Thank you to Solitude HOA for including us in their reserved seats.
